Joint HR and Finance&Legal Group on The aftermath of a Difficult Conversation - outcome and what next? (in English supplemented by Chinese)
Difficult Conversations
๏ปฟ
Characterized by heated exchanges, flustered expressions, and uncomfortable pauses, they bring up immediate emotions like anger, frustrations, and longer term feelings of self-doubt and regrets. The reality is that conversations do not get easier as we grow older in life or more senior in position. Performance appraisals, exit interviews, disillusioned staff, pushy subordinates, over-ambitious interns, rebellious teenage children, brooding spouse, -- the list of scenarios is endless.
The original design of this 2-hour talk was to zoom into "difficult" conversations from two perspectives : (1) the background, the how and why it happens, and a different mindset that is required to deal with it (2) the components and patterns making up such conversation.
In Spring 2018, we barely managed to cover (1) in two hours.
In Spring 2019, we are bringing you our speaker, Linda Hon, to continue with (2).
Participants who attended the previous session are welcomed to join the sequel to get the full picture. However, those who are interested in the topic are also welcomed because (2) can be taken as a stand-alone module also.
