FBCS and SwissCham Shanghai are delighted to invite you to attend our seminar in cooperation with PwC to discuss the individual income tax (IIT) reform for foreigners in China as well as the latest immigration requirements (i.e. work permits for foreigners, permanent residence cards).

With the three-year transitional period to be completed in December 2021, whether the preferential tax treatment would be still applicable is drawing more and more attention. PwC's Tax Partner, Faye Yu, will discuss the relevant points and different tax treatments respectively (annual bonus, equity income, non-taxable benefits for foreigners, etc.). In addition, she will share the market practice with the suggestions to be taken by the companies regarding the potential changes from China's individual income tax perspective.

Due to the travel restrictions, which have not been given an expiration date, many foreign nationals who may or may not hold a valid residence permit are prohibited from entering China. Meanwhile, many foreign nationals have concerns about getting a China Permanent Residence Card: whether it will impact the tax residency in China and what's the requirement of obtaining the permanent residence card. With upcoming holiday seasons, many members plan to travel abroad. However, it is important to understand Covid-related travel issues before departing. PwC's Manager for Global Mobility, Ray Xia, will cover the latest travel policy in this section.
