Since the PRC Personal Information Protection Law and the PRC Data Security Law came into effect at the end of 2021, more than six months have passed and there have been quite some new developments. These new changes include not only new legislative developments, but also best compliance practices by companies.
To get a better understanding of these latest changes, SwissCham Shanghai is delighted to partner with Taylor Wessing law firm. Data protection specialist Dr. Michael Tan will share his latest observations and insights on hot topics concerning data protection, which include:

Michael is currently Vice National Chair of the Legal & Competition Working Group under the European Union Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as an arbitrator of the Shanghai International Arbitration Center. He has more than 20 years of experience in advising international companies’ investment in China in all legal aspects including M&A, restructuring and daily operation. Michael is now heading the firm's TMC practice for China. He has profound experience and good reputation in areas concerning industrial investment/funding, IT compliance, data/privacy protection and cyber security.
