The pandemic has accelerated the digitalization (e-services) in healthcare industry since many patients are unable to visit the hospital during lockdowns, and underlined the importance of mental resilience for employees and individuals.
During the recent area lockdown in Shanghai, healthcare institutions have launched various online consultations and counselling services to serve the public. Will the ongoing lockdown foster the trend of e-services for the players in the healthcare institutions? Ioana has served as General Manager of the Shanghai Chapter of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (European Chamber) since October 2009. She is responsible for implementation and development of European Chamber objectives, visibility, membership and lobbying activities in Shanghai and neighbouring regions.
A German-qualified lawyer, before joining the Chamber, Ioana practiced with a German law firm in Shanghai focussing on foreign direct investment.
Ioana holds a PhD degree in law from Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf, where she also worked as a Senior Research Assistant.

Dr. Tan Jun specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries in the fields of spine surgery and orthopedics. He was selected as one of the top ten spine surgeons in China and specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of difficult spinal surgery diseases, trauma treatment and spinal deformity correction. He is particularly good at minimally invasive treatment of the spine, such as microscopic and foramina techniques, correction of severe spinal deformity, difficult upper cervical spondylosis, cervical vertebra and anterior spine surgery.
Education:
Dr. Tan Jun graduated from the Second Military Medical University with a bachelor's degree and a doctor's degree in clinical medicine and orthopedics in 1989 and 1996, respectively. He studied under the guidance of Professor Tu Kaiyuan, the founder of modern orthopedics and trauma surgery in China and a famous orthopedics expert. He received specialised training in spine surgery in Denver and Las Vegas, USA, and studied in hospitals in the USA, Germany and Singapore.
Background:
Dr. Tan Jun has more than 30 years of clinical experience. Before joining United Family Medical Shanghai, Dr. Jun worked in the Spinal Surgery Department of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital for 15 years and for another 15 years in Oriental Hospital and Oriental International Hospital of Tongji University, where he served as Director of Orthopedics and Director of Emergency Surgery for a long time. He also served as the vice president of Dongfang Hospital, the president of the trusteeship hospital and the executive vice chairman of China Ping An Hospital Management Group.
Academic Status:
Dr. Tan served as a lecturer in spine surgery and trauma with the famous international orthopaedic organization, AO, and as the academic secretary of the International AO Spinal Training Center (China). He was also a member of the International Spinal Cauldron Society, director of the Chinese Orthopaedic Association and director of the Chinese Orthopaedic Association Spinal Surgery Branch.
He is also a member of the Standing Committee of the National Spinal Trauma Research Group, a vice-chairman of the Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Association of the Chinese Medical Doctors Association, a vice-chairman of the Shanghai Spinal Injury Committee and a vice-leader of the Shanghai Orthopaedic Committee on minimally invasive spine surgery.
In addition, he is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Hospital Evaluation Committee of the Chinese Hospital Association, vice chairman of the Non-public Medical Orthopaedic Association and chairman of the Digital Orthopaedic Spine Committee of the Chinese Engineering Association.
Dr. Tan Jun has published nearly 40 SCI papers and 400 Chinese papers.
As a professor and doctoral supervisor in the School of Medicine, he has trained more than 40 doctors and masters, and won the Excellent Organization Award of Standardized Training of Resident Doctors in Shanghai.
