Business Finland together with other team Finland players, in collaboration with the Shanghai Society of Architecture, is organizing a Shanghai-Finland Sustainable Construction Technology Seminar on Friday 10 December, 2021 at 09:00 – 12:00 (CST Beijing) in Shanghai.

As the central government of China is releasing more specific strategies and targets to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality, there is a growing demand for sustainable construction and building solutions. In November, 2021, the Shanghai Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Management Committee issued the 14th Five-Year Plan for Green Buildings in Shanghai. According to the plan, more than 5 million square meters of ultra-low energy building demonstration projects will be implemented. A system of building carbon emission related standards will be established, and the market mechanism of carbon trading in the building sector will be explored. By 2025, the Shanghai's building sector's carbon emissions will be controlled at about 45 million tons.

In order to promote Finland as a leading country in the sustainable construction, we want to introduce Finnish solutions and companies to the construction and engineering experts in Shanghai. Major architectural engineering institutes in Shanghai will be invited to this seminar and Finnish companies will have the chance to introduce their solutions.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This business seminar is aimed for Finnish companies that are already present in China and identify themselves in the sustainable construction sector including engineering solution, HVAC, building energy efficiency, sustainable material, and wood construction.

Attendance to the on-site seminar is free of charge, however, requires a registration via THIS LINK​. Please note that this is a seminar organized by Business Finland and thus, requires registration via Business Finland's event registration platform. Please register by December 3rd.

PRACTICALITIES

This seminar will be held on-site in the Shanghai Science Hall, Building No. 1, 84 Yandang Road. For the pitching session there are a maximum of 8 companies. Attendance to the on-site seminar is free of charge, however, requires a registration via the link above.

Business Finland will inform the registered companies on December 7 if they have been selected by the Chinese counterpart to give a company pitch. All interested participants are welcome to join the seminar as on-site participants.
