The pulp and paper sector is a diverse global business that affects our lives through the variety of products that we use each and every day. This presentation will provide more insight into the different pulp and paper grades along with highlighting where the Finnish/Nordic companies are active.

The supply and demand for grades such as market pulp, graphic, packaging, specialty and tissue papers all differ and are affected not only by global events, such as the current pandemic, but also by changes in local legislation. For example, in China, the world's largest pulp and paper market, the country's recent full ban on recycled paper imports has affected the domestic paper industry's supply chain which ripples through to other markets as well.

Additionally, as sustainability is becoming a more and more important topic, China's recent plan to reduce fossil CO2 emissions will likely also affect the pulp and paper industry that is heavily powered by coal.
