With 2020 marking the first-time taxpayers have to handle the annual settlement in accordance with the new law. This talk is helping our members to navigate this complex process smoothly to make the tax process a success.


Starting from the fiscal year 2019 both local Chinese and foreign nationals employed in China are required to declare their annual individual income tax. According to the provisions of the IIT Law, taxpayers are required to annually calculate their final income tax payable and must handle their annual settlement.R&P Lawyers Director of Corporate Services Ann Sophie de Meester will share detailed instructions on how to make the annual tax declaration in China.


Please notice that the annual settlement must be performed by 30 June 2020 for the period of 1 January to 31 December 2019.

    Director of Corporate Services at R&P China Lawyers

    Ann Sophie joined R&P China Lawyers in 2018 as the Director of Corporate Services. Prior to joining R&P, she worked in Shanghai as a Group financial Controller for a Norwegian multinational.

    Ann Sophie has extensive experience advising foreign companies on tax compliance for various cross-border operations, including VAT and CIT optimization.

    She specializes in intercompany transactions, and reconciliation of financial statements so that they comply with IFRS and China GAAP. She was educated at Aarhus University, Denmark, with a dual BA in Chinese and Business Administration, Ann Sophie also attended programs at Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shanghai Donghua University.
