After the 19th Party Congress: Where is China heading - and how much should we worry about China´s “debt mountain”?
China has changed significantly over the past forty years - and continues to break new ground. Rapid growth in consumerism, e-commerce, green energy and entry into high-tech areas like Artificial Intelligence are just a few examples of how fast China is changing. China is indeed entering a new era as coined by Chinese president Xi Jinping in his ‘work report’ at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party.

What will the future look like for the Chinese economy? Where are the opportunities for Nordic companies? And finally how much should we worry about China’s debt and shadow banking?

To address these questions and many more, the DCCC has invited Chief China Economist at Danske Bank Allan von Mehren. Over the past 20 years Allan von Mehren has worked as a global macro economist and in recent years specialized on the Chinese economy. Allan has recently completed an in depth study on China´s shadow banking sector and will provide a precise and relevant update on Danske Bank´s assessment of China´s economy and show why he believes China’s rise has only just begun.
