GDPR is a new Data Protection Regulation that applies to companies doing business with Europe, within the EU or not. This Regulation brings uniformity to data protection allowing for easier transfer of data throughout the EU. The initiative allows data protection to be more in line with the new ways of data usage. GDPR might also have an impact on the operations of plenty of multinational companies in China dealing with personal data from the EU.

    Wendy Weng is in charge of all legal related matters for UPM APAC business units. Wendy has about 18-years of experience in the legal profession by working as a practicing lawyer and in-house legal counsel. Wendy holds a L.L.M degree in International Business Law of Leiden University, the Netherlands and L.L.B degree in International Commercial Law of Shanghai International Studies University.
